KFC launched a sandwich and meal combo in the premium category to rival competitors. The 6 week campaign and name termed The Boss; wanted to convey to its target demographic the feeling of empowerment and affinity to the brand while meeting all KPI’s within the period.
We created an innovative app which utilized Facial recognition technology. Essentially the app allowed any user or fan to take or upload their best “Boss” image to win a prize. The app analyzes facial features including expressions and the use of accessories (eg Sunglasses, hats etc) and subsequently awards a score to determine if they are “The Boss”. The app was also made available for all Blackberry, iOS and Android platforms.
KFC received extremely high positive sentiments towards the app and an increase in brand affinity. Mentions by users across the social media landscape grew 15% including growth in fans and engagement results.
